I have tried everything i could think of (exept welding) and i keep getting exhaust leaks! were the leaks are is were the downpipe meets the pipe from the muffler (no cat). I have tried a Exhaust sealer that came in a tube and you spread the kahki colored stuff in the joints with a brush. That stuff cracked then eventually fell off. I then tried a 2 part putty (the kind you knead) and that stuff eventually crackd and fell off. What do i do next?

New pipe.

Fix it correctly.

Ok i forgot to mention that nothing is wrong with the pipe, but the replacement tube creates a lip over the stock downtube... creating a .25 inch gap between the tubes.

if you know anyone with a pneumatic flange kit, you could possibly get the pipe expanded to fit a little snugger..however, going and finding a pipe that slides over/under or what-have-you would be the easiest and most effective in my opinion. and WELD IT lol i got sick of the clamps..work for a bit but thats it..

I dont have access to a welder. and i dint think that a mufler shop will weld anything w/o a cat. right?

W/O a cat. they won't touch it.
Buy a new pipe and put in a new gasket. It's the BEST way to fix it. The pipe shouldn't be to expensive at any parts store.

i have the same problem right now and its a pain do like he said, buy a new pipe and replace the old one.

You can get a lead donut gasket from AAP, maybe autozone. If you have stock sized pipe, putting this in the middle of the junction fixed my leak. like $12 i think.

They have fairly inexpensive pipe expanders which are used with an impact wrench if you want to go that route. They work well on relatively thin walled exhaust pipe. You may get lucky and be able to rent one from an auto parts store that has a rental program.
