whats the crazyest gearing you have ever seen both high and low

My 81 F150 had 2.50:1 gears in a nine inch with the factory tire of 235 75 R15.

Rockwells have 6.72:1 gears. I dont know if there is lower than that. There probably is but I dont know of it.

There is a guy here with a '76 Cherokee running 7.17's in D60's...that is the lowest I have heard of.

mog axles actually have somewhere around 3.45 gearing. but the gear reduction hubs double the ratio at the wheels

2:73's are pretty common in 80s gm car rearends nothing reall fancy as long as it didnt have OD as for deepest gear well find out what a tractor with planetary gears and figure out the final ratio.

In the early 80's I worked at an Olds-Cadillac dealer, standard rear on an 84 Cutlass with a V8 was 2.14 I shit you not.
I saw an older spec book there, a mid-70's Caddy with a 500 cube motor had a 2.29 rear. No wonder they're still running around 35 years later, the engines didn't turn enough to wear out yet.

I went from a 25.9 to a 27.4 inch tire not long ago. Up until I looked recently the amount of loss I had with that change made me think I had a 3.08 or similar. Turns out it's 3.55. I don't want to go back to the 14 inch rim from factory. I was just wondering if going to a 3.73 would make a difference noticable from the current 3.55 or could I get away with a 4.10 without my tongue hanging out on the highway.

All week I've been buzzing down the turnpike about 25 miles for jury duty /yeah..good times). Getting on the highway with the 225/70/15's isn't all the great. So in thinking I wanted to change the gearing I sped up to see what kinda rpm I turned at high speed being that I don't drive that fast with it much. at 3 grand 5th gear (OD) was 82mph. 70 mph is more of a normal speed on the highway for me. Would a 4.10 work for general driving and would 1st gear than be pointless?

UM? How about 5-ton rockwells available in 6.44, 8.72, and the ones I have 10.26:1 no planetaries either
