hidden gauges

i was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting a guage in an ashtray i wanted to put a transmisson temp guage in there

i have seen pictures of gauges in the ashtray. there is a company that you can send the ashtray off too and they will put the gauge in and everything. they only do lightnings though. if you decide to do it be sure and take pictures.

Just curious, but why would someone want a gauge in the ashtray?

well i never use my ashtray and i though it would be cool and a good spot for a guage cause the way you open the ashtray you can face the gauge facing straight up idk just an idea

i was thinking make like a little box around the guage and have it fit pefect in the ashtray

Gotcha. Interesting idea anyway. Not sure I would personally want to have any gauges hidden from plain sight, but it looks like a fun little project if that is what you want. Good luck!

Makes sense to me! Seems like it would be pretty cool. I am just weird about liking keeping an eye on my gauges. Every time I check my fuel gauge, I end up checking all my gauges to make sure I am good. Haha! I am a bit OCD about a few things.

ill be able to see it just not so clearly during the day whereas at night it will be shining at me
OCD works its the non OCD people youve got to worry about lol

i have even seen some that have dual gauges on the outside of the ashtray so you dont have to open it to see them

yeah i saw that too they had to bondo the gauges on i could probably do that that might be cool
