new radius arm bushings, more noise than ever

Had the shop install new radius arm bushings and now I have more creaking and popping than ever. Is there something you can actually do wrong with that install? :icon_confused:


Also leveling coils, shocks, drivers balljoints, front ujoints but I do not see how those would make popping sounds between accel and braking.
 
Actually any of the things you had installed could cause a popping sound, definatly take it back!
 
Well I have only driven it twice since the work. Home from the shop, and then to/from the aligment place. (took it there saying I needed camber bushings, they called me back and said that guy was on vaca, waiting on that guy).. I have a feeling if I take it back to the original shop they'll say the alignment is out before they can diagnose an actual problem.
 
Bad alignment WILL NOT cause a popping sound.

I'd feel/look behind the radius arm bracket for broken spacers. If you can, shake the vehicle to make it pop. This can be difficult front-to-back (side-to-side is quite easy). Try jumping on the bumpers.

If you can make it pop while parked, you can have a buddy do it and climb under the truck to locate what's popping.

I would hope brand new bushings are not broken. First guess is they're too tight/loose. How many pieces are the bushings?

Front to back

Radius arm -> conical washer -> white bushing -> bracket -> black spacer? -> white bushing -> flat washer -> nut.

On both sides, there are two bushings and a spacer. All three need to be in good shape.

Did they drill out the rivets and bolt the radius arm bracket back on? If so those bolts need to be super tight otherwise the bracket will slide a bit under acceleration and braking making a popping sound.
 
Looked it over, said no movement in the front end at all, slight movement in body mount. Sweeeet, I thought I was done with work for a little while atleast.
