I have seen some AWSOME results using this method. And for about $50-$60.....why not? Curious to see if anyone has rolled their ranger....

A couple people on here have I think.

I know there's a guy with a satin black paint job.

YEARS ago!

I painted a 66 GMC HD 1/2ton with rustolem & a brush, looked GREAT from a distance, but when ya got within 3ft of it, you could start to see brush marks.............BWTH, I've got a pic around here somewhere........found it, it's a pretty crappy pic as it's a old polaroid I had to scan, but you get the jist:

What type of roller did you use? How many coats and how often did you wetsand in between coats?

Why not just spray bomb it for the same price and have it look good from 3 inches away rather than 3 feet? :icon_confused:

Me and my buddies got really drunk and and had him back up and drive forward while a couple of us held rollers and paint brushes, looked funny as hell but hey it was a vw and already looked like crap lmao

Well.............

Rattle-bomb looks like sh*t from any distance IMO, I've never been able to blend worth a poop with a rattlecan when ya ran out & went to another, but whatever floats your boat............my brush job looked KILLER till you got close enough to see the fine brush marks. After I did mine, a friend of mine did his 64 Chevy pickup with acrylic enamel, used a brush, & it looked good, that paint seem to smooth itself out as it dried.:icon_twisted:

But if you can blend with a spray bomb you can't really tell it's a spray bomb. With enough skill spray bomb jobs look pristine. Still doesn't compare to HVLP though. :icon_thumby:

I don't mind brush marks on the walls of my house but I'd rather not have them on my truck.

I've been tempted to try a rattle-bomb on my rollpan, as the local paint supply here has a jar w/aresol attachment, you buy your paint/primer, mix it, put it in the jar, hookup the aresol, and spray away..........gonna give him my paint code, get a pint, all necessary stuff, & give it a try......WTH right!

Might as well, I'd do it if I were you. I always treat a spray bomb like a HVLP gun and I usually get awesome results. :icon_thumby:
