Well i thought i might as well start a progress thread. So i have a 1989 Ranger ext cab 4x4. Its pretty much stock right now as it sits but i have been collecting all the parts needed for my build. I Bought my tires today 31x10.50R15 BFG Mud Terrain KM's, My Used 6" lift should be arriving sometime this weekend, and bought Dana 35 ttb and 8.8 rear with Trac Lok that i will be installing shortly after my lift. I will be ordering 4.56's gears and Aussie lockers. I'm going to custom make my own extended Radius Arms.

I have some 15x8 Cragar aluminum rims that i will have my mudz wrapped around.

Plans i have for the body is repair all rust, Rock guard the whole outside and undercarriage of the truck, Armour guard box liner and i have a custom bumper being made as we speak with my winch plate and clevis points. I will have pictures and progress reports as i go along.

Im going to do a tune up to it right away and i have to pull the drivers side exhaust manifold off my parts engine because my current one is cracked. So as soon as i get my spare manifold i will send it to the muffler shop.

Here is some pictures of my Truck and Tires.

with 6" and 31s, u will have tons of room for flex.. bfg mt's are pretty decent tires, esp. with the 3 ply sidewalls and lockers.. look forward to the build!

I had lots of room for 31's with a 4" lift

Ya i am looking forward to building this project. Its going to be my DD and trail rig. I hope my 31's look find with 6" lift. Hard to find any decent pictures with the same set up.

keep us posted! looks like your headed in the right direction!:icon_thumby:

I am running 6" of lift and 31's. It is perfect with the amount of flex I have. I don't have to worry about cutting a tire with the fenders being uncut.

Keep the pictures coming.

Ya i wanted to run 31's because its a very comfortable size tire for the 2.9L. Nothing wrong with a 31 compared to a 33. The 31 isn't as noisy on the highway and the 33 i hear is pretty loud. i thought a 6" lift would be perfect to clear my tires without having to fut the fenders.

I priced out skyjacker brake lines and its going to be $200 shipped to Canada for me, that's for front and rear. A little outta my price range, is there any other way that i can do something cheaper? Any body here do some kind of custom? that will work for sure. Or am i really better off with these skyjacker brake lines.

Thanks venom.

If i used the stock rad arm and fabbed it up to make it a extended. How long should the tubing be for my six inch lift?

here is a picture from the forums of what i want to do.

Im wanting measurements of this set up. So i can make myself a pair.

I priced out the BH 38622 and 38623 brake lines at NAPA and its $55 for Both. Hopefully these will work out.

I have a guy locally that will turn my rad arms into extended ones. But i will run stock for now.
