Shortly after my last trip to the carwash a small piece of wire fell out of my driver's side powered mirror. The mirror can still be adjusted but it vibrates when I'm driving and the least touch knocks it out of whack.

The local Mazda dealer quoted me $234.95 for a new mirror and $48.00 labor. I can get a new Mazda mirror on line for much less. My question is: Do any of you know how difficult it is to replace the powered side mirror on a 2002 B4000?

easy.

remove the door panel, unbolt and unplug the old mirror. install new mirror in reverse order.

What he said.

Can be done in less than a half-hour including a break for liquid refreshment.

Thanks guys. That sounds like my kind of DIY repair -- fast, easy, and relatively cheap! :yahoo:

My new miiror arrived today. I saved a hundred bucks off waht the local Mazda dealership wanted, plus the $48.00 installfee.:yahoo: Since I'm going to have the door panel off anyway, I bought a couple of Pioneer 3-way replacment speakers with some of the money I saved. I'll do the install this weekend if the weather is good. Thanks again.:icon_thumby:
