how many cold cranking amps on a 4.0 battery?

I think the auto parts store may have given me the wrong battery? its rated at 540CCA + 675 CA @ 32 degrees. What do u guys have?

The Napa webiste only lists 1 battery for your truck, the 7558. It is also rated at 540 CCA and 675 CA.

i had a guy i know at a chevron tire station look up the biggest group that would fit.he said there was a "snowplow" or "heavy duty" option so i bought it instead.it fills up the whole tray side to side with 875 CCA.interstate mtr-45(thats probably the wrong #, part of the mt_ and_5 are worn off).

the funny thing is my old 2.9l cranked so fast it had an abnormal whirring sound with a 4.0 starter and that battery.enough to get people asking me if i had a fancy pants reduction starter

well i've got an 1101cca laying around here somewhere J/K! my 2.9l was getting towards 1,000 rpm's on the starter.enough to worry about dry start lubrication

do you know what the group size the "heavy duty" batt. is? theres no more room in the tray thats for sure.

i wouldn't have bought the interstate conventional batt. if i hadn't got it at cost.i think it was 85$?

hmm i'd have to have a peek at it, its been in there for 3 years now. I am pretty sure its a 65 series battery. It fit my stock tray and hold down just fine.

fords most common battery sizes are 540, 590, and 650 CCA's. ive seen all 3 in rangers from the factory.

my Bronco II came with a battery that is obviously not correct...it's a neverstart and isn't even big enough for the clamp to grab the lip at the bottom of the case.

It's spontaneously been losing charge sitting in my garage without even being hooked up, so I'll be replacing it before it gets on the road.

For my 94 4.0L it is a group size 65 battery.

Picked up the only 65 size battery they had at walmart and its rated at 850CCA.

Fits perfectly in the tray and cranks good

Most rangers list 65-Series batteries as the correct replacement...the same found in larger pickups that usually contain atleast 850 cca. The 98-00 rangers for some reason list 58-Series batteries that were alot smaller. Shouldnt require much to make space for the 65-Series though, considering the much hasnt changed over the years.

Got a 1000cca deka in mine 94 4.0 never given any lip except when the factory terminals decided to crook on the way home one night.
