Whipple and E85?

So I have been pondering truck mods some more latley and got to thinking about better engine performance. Naturally the Whipple came to mind as a good choice, but then I also was wondering about its compatiability with my truck. Does anyone know if the injectors from the 1998-2000/01 kit (assuming the kits had them, since most I see sell it all as a package) are E85 compatible?

good luck finding a kit first of all, they discontinued the kit not long after production and were backordered forever from what i heard. a supercharger doesnt care what fuel you run it pumps air. its the injection and everything else that you should worry about, and since its an older kit for non flex compliant models i would believe it wouldnt be compatible unless the manufacturer says so. on another note, do supercharger kits come w/ injectors and such? i thought that was seperate the kit just came w/ the super, some ducting/attachments, instructions and hardware. the plumbing and everything else you were on your own w/ as far as intercooling, air filter mass sensor placement t/b injectors pressure regulator etc. and tuning.

I am not concerned about the actual charger, I was asking about the injectors. I would assume they atleast thought about it concidering that many of the 98-00/01 were flex fuel like mine.

Yeah, I am not sure if they were part of the charger set-up, or a seperate purchase and people selling their chargers are selling them as a 'kit'.

whats anapaum's issues have to do with running a whippled 3.0 on e85

the injectors dont care what fuel is going through them. the tune will be your problem. whipples tune (IIRC, whipples kit comes with a chip) is intended for an engine running gasoline. certain flex fuel motors have additional sensors and ALL have different tuning and calibrations to allow for them to run on E85. who knows how the E85 computer will respond to a non-flex fuel tune. it may effectivly give you a non-flex fuel vehicle...or it may cause severe drivability problems.

The injectores do, but don't care; if they are not certified for blends of ethanol and gas higher than 15% you can run into issues. Our snowmobiles here at school run on E70 and E85, and at first we just got larger injectors because we could not find approved ones. Weeks later after dyno pulls and calibration runs we began to have issues with injector seals, as we expected from the higher ehtanol content. It was remedied, but I would like to avoid such issues with my truck if at all possible.

I completely forgot about the computer calibrations... guess I should have got more sleep the other day.

Did Whipple make multiple cals or just a general one that the computer would learn from?

even if it does come w/ a map your prob going to have to tune it out anyway since its a generic map.
