Big timber...

Some relatives flew in from the east coast to visit last week. Took them on a little drive through the Redwoods known as the "Avenue of the Giants". Never seeing timber like this was a sight to behold for them. Pics don't do these things justice.

Hey i know that place, The tree roots are missin up the road, A lot of chip trailers and such hit the trees and tare off the bark. And their is an awesome swimming hole out that direction

Damn, I thought this was about the Himsa song 'Big Timber'. Heh, I was in for a treet, seeing some tree's. That's a pretty big tree though.

i really woulden't want to live anwhere but in the redwoods.coulden't stand the desert or down south(humidity).oregons alright but i live in mendo and that willy nelson song(mendocino county line) always comes to mind.

redwoods, never been there. biggest i have ever seen is Douglas Fir in British Columbia. Then again i havent ever been out of Canada.

I thought sequoia trees were bigger but then i just did a read up on redwood lol

How do the redwoods compare to the Sequoia's? I've seen General Sherman - estimated 385 TONS and still growing!

redwoods can grow taller then sequoias but they have a shorter life span.
