My brother's truck wasn't passing Ca. emissions so I helped him out and found a leaky filler neck. I did a ghetto repair job (yamabond #4 and a bicycle tube repair kit, really no $%&^) to get it to pass. Now that it's my truck, I thought I'd do a better job. So about 1-2 years ago, I remember fuel filler necks were about $300. Now they're all over flea-bay for about $70. Anyone bought one? Some say short bed or long bed specific and some don't. Are they all interchangable? I've got a 4x4 long bed.

thanks, Scott

Wish I knew. I got the same problem. I found one on ebay that says it fits all 90/97 long, short and X cabs as well. All but flairsides.

i would think that long bed and short would be the same. im pretty sure flaresides use a shorter neck as the fuel door is located closer to the fuel tanks.

I bought one off of ebay to pass smog... the filler hose was twisted inside the vapor hose so I ended up pulling my bed off a second time to fix it but for the price I cant complain to much and it did pass the emissions test :yahoo:

I found a filler neck from a bronco II at the junkyard, got it for $10. Fit fine on my '90 ranger with a long box.
