I am concidering getting a Power Trax, NO-SLIP for my 2000 Ranger.
It is 2 wheel Drive, with a 7.5 differential. My question is
will it make a lot of noise when making turns. Also will
it make every day street driving difficult. If anyone out there
has one installed already, I would appreciate your feedback.

I've had one in my 2000 4x4 for over 30,000 miles now. Makes a little noise but you soon forget about it. No problem daily driving. Got another one in the mail for my '05' 2x4. I think the subject covered in the tech section?

They arent made for the 7.5... You can get a lock-right, its the same thing just not quite as smooth. I daily drive with a lock-right, the only time I can hear it click is when my windows are down and I do a sharp turn at really slow speed, it's not noisy at all.

After posting earlier, thought you might be better off (cheeper) maybe finding an 8.8 factory LS rear with the 10" brakes with the ratio that might work better for you. Low mileage one is about the same as the Power Trax.

Quick question: with 4.56 gears, do you need to take the carrier out to install the locker?
Thanks

What kind of locker? A full carrier yes because its a new carrier, a lunchbox locker no. I tried using the notched crosspin with my 4.10s and lock right and it wouldnt allow me to move the spacers inwards so I could install the c-clips, so I took a dremel to the ring gear and used a full crosspin.

Hahnsb2: I am looking at lock-right lunchbox for 7.5, I am trying to see what it takes to install it with 4.56 gears

You're going to have to grind the ring gear down the gear just a bit with a dremel to allow the crosspin to come out, a notched crosspin wouldn't work fo me with the lock right because it wouldnt allow me to move the spacers inwards to install the c-clips.
