How to get the back level w/ a 6" lift

l have a 93 4x4, l am done with the front portion of my 6" lift and l am ready to start on the back... l have pieced together my lift, so l dont have any blocks.

What has everyone done to even it out? l have the stock 2" blocks causing a bad rake on level ground.

l am curious what everyone else has done to get the truck to sit level...

My plans are adding 2" shackles. Do you think that will be enough or should l ook into 3" blocks as well?

Well, you don't want to be stacking blocks if that's what you were referring to..

I'd suggest shackles, a taller block or some add a leaf's

About how much more do you think you need to get level?

No... l dont have any plans to stack blocks...

l dont know how much l will need. l dont have anything installed yet... but was wondering if the shackles would be enough... l would like to get it done all in one shot if possible...

Yup, I too would reccomend extended shackles and a taller block, or add-a-leaf.

Shackles will give youo an extra 2" if you think that'll be enough

Probably....

You might be better off with shackles (+2"), add-a-leaf (+2"), and a 2" block to get the 6" you want...

l belive the stock block on the truck is 2.5"... does anyone know. l am thinking a 3" block and 2" shackle may do it...

Well, I've always had an idea to fab up custom mounting brackets for the leaf springs. Just make the mounting point however many inches lower you want it to be (lifted) or higher (lower), and presto, you have lift. Just as long as it's kept within reason and you have good welding skills I don't see a problem.

I plan to do that when I adjust my ride height someday.

Pick up a set of Explorer leafs (Ranger leafs would probably work too) and a sset of Belltech shackles. Pull apart the leaf packs from your truck and cut the eyes off the main leafs, then pull apart the other packs and put them under the main leaf. It's essentially a long add a leaf really, but it doesn't ride too bad.

Or if your truck isn't an extended cab, mounting up a set of 63" Chevy leafs isn't too hard. I plan on doing this, since the above mentioned method doesn't provide enough clearance for 33s (or 31s, haha) on my Gen I truck. It will on your Gen III truck though, since the fenders are a different shape.
