Im trying to figure out what lockers would be best for the front of my rig. I scrolled through the locker thread and didn't see any posts on anything newer then 97'. I looked online for the powertrax lock right's but again didn't see any for 98' and newer rangers. Any suggestions?

I have an 03 3.0 EDGE 4x4

Thanks

I think the newer trucks still have a D35....

The newer trucks have the SLA D35 Reverse Roto.

That may have something to do with it. Possibly?

The D35 in the 90-97 trucks has the reverse cut gears, the 98+ is low pinion.

Yea, it's a D35 for sure. This may be a stupid question, but is there a way to make a pre 97' work?

Don't think so, different carriers. Aussie makes a locker for the 98+ IFS D35.

i would would go with a locker in the front if i had hubs....just becouse it is a live axil and that locker will act funny....i just know that my lockers in the front of my trucks axt funny when i have my hubs locked in and going down the road...they like to hope and crackle

Agreed it will act funny on the road with the live axle setup. But to answer your question I have an Aussie in the front of my 98 with AVM hubs and I don't have anything bad to say about it yet, it works just as I hoped it would. I believe the difference is that the 98+ carrier is smaller than the TTB D35 so a pre 98 locker would not fit in your carrier.

Thanks for the info guys, that's just what I needed to hear. So when hubs are locked going down the road and it makes that crackle sound, is it f-ing things up in there?
