well its all coming apart. some how i did some thing wrong with the tranny , and it no work. so it will be a time befor i am up and running. feel like slamming my head in the trunk of a car and calling it a day F---!!!!:annoyed:

Holy crap. That is a lot of engine for a Ranger. I recently aquired my late grandfathers 1992 Ranger Custom 4x4 extended cab. What did you need to shoehorn a cleveland in there?

I have a cleveland sitting around here somewhere. Aren't they getting hard to get parts for? I had a 70 Mach one and seemed parts where scarce and expensive then (middle 90's).

Anyway, to the original poster. Nice work. May have to fly you here and have you help me! haha

Yes, it is a lot of motor for a Ranger! That's how I like it.
:yahoo:
I originally had a 5.0, so all I had to do was have a custom set of motor mounts made. That's all I changed. Not too bad at all. :icon_thumby:

I have to say that 5.0's are good dependable engines, but I'm glad I went to the Cleveland! It's awsome! :shok:

I have found everything I needed for the 351 Cleveland, but not cheap. Good luck with your build and may the Cleveland run forever! :icon_cheers:
:3gears:

I cant tell you guys how bad i wanna do that in my 04.. i just cant seem to kill that 4.0 sohc and that damn 5r55e..

its all torn apart. tranny in the tranny shop .pump quit ate the clutches .cant get a definite answer what i did. should be Abel to pick it up after new years .(it looks like someone filled it with graphite.)

You might want to check and make sure you have the correct flywheel for the c4. I had a mustang I put a 351w in out of a truck with a c6,kept the c6 flywheel on the motor, the mustang had a c4 and it grinded the gear into the back of the pump. It turned out that the spacing is differen't on some ford tranny's than others. the c6 flywheel actually was pushing the converter into the tranny putting rearward pressure on my pump gear. Got the correct one, cleaned tranny out still looked good, replaced pump and drove it for a year no problem.

you get the gold star that what it was that and for some reason i did not put the motor to tranny plate in so that just made it worse

Hey long hours, lack of sleep, and to many beers:beer::icon_cheers: shit happens:icon_confused: I'm glad you figured it out:icon_thumby:

update on fried tranny

so the combo of varsol and paint fumes, i mixed up my flex plates put a c6 one in, and forgot motor to tranny plate .which in turn slowly ground the pump in to dust . explains why it worked than did not. good news is that besides filling the tranny with what was once the pump. it did not wreck any thing else. was at tranny shop yesterday, buddy says new pump and he`ll do a valve kit, a couple hun. and i am back up . the real shitty thing is that that when i pulled the flex plate its marked c6, and i don't drink or smoke.:dunno: should be back up in a week or two, depends on work .
