im making my own lift for my truck with tuff country brackets and 8" skyjacker coils, what shocks should i get? i can put the super duty shock mounts on if needed because i want flex. but looking at shocks i have no idea what shock number or brand i should get. i dont want no fancy res shocks

Best way to decide which shocks to get is to measure AFTER you have the lift on. Measure the shock compressed length and the shock extended length. Then call Summit with those numbers.

I recommend the Skyjacker Hydro shocks.

thanks bro, im gonna try that

If you want any kind of shock travel at all, install the F-250 shock towers.

I have a set if you want them. They were modified to accept a stud upper mount.

i think i would prefer the eyelet style shock instead just because they will allow the shock to articulate more in the mount

Thats kinds of pointless to mod them to accept the stud style mount. You can't get as long of a shock in the stud style as you can in the eyelet style.

I didn't modify them, they were like that when I acquired them.

I'm not sure there's a lot to gain with extended shock mounts with 8" RBV lift coils, that amount of lift will put enough distance between the stock mounts to let you mount a shock that will allow full use of those coils.

If you decide to move over to early Bronco coils or something a little flexier though, then you could reap more benefit from extending the shock mounts.

Were you planning on modifying those TC brackets somehow? IIRC, they only came in a 4" lift version, which is too short for 8" coils even on a Supercab.

Skyjacker hydo are good.
Skyjacker nitros are also good.
I've been happy with both.
