I've noticing that I'm having alot harder time keeping my spirits up when I log in to all my usual sites lately.

This site has been one huge religious/political bickering tournament as of late...

Rangerpowersports.com has always just been that site where everyone seemingly just says stuff like, "I really like what you've done dude" or "You need to put some huge rims on that and it will look killer". It's become a fashion show for the high dollar spending, non-typical ranger owner. I'll admit that I fit that bill in a way, but I don't 'think' like they do.

I've defended this site countless times over there too. They don't even recognize this site except for the kickass tech section. Little do 99% of them realize that the people here submitted those articles and are the reason that everything is so kickass. I guess they've dumbed themselves down because TRS doesn't seem like it's "high class" enough for them. I know that's the attitude I've seen from most of them.

Another example... Boggin, Koda, and Trucksgetdirty as well as a few others have all stopped posting over there because nobody even gave them much of a chance to start. It's sickening. This site is MUCH more friendly than that seemingly stuck up piece of somewhat useful (but mostly not) webspace.

See how this is starting to bug me to all ends?

I'd like to say, God bless the website of TRS that still lets it's people be people without having to have a show truck. The attitude is much nicer and I can't say much more to that.

What I will ask is that each one of you who logs on here daily or semi-weekly, PLEASE realize that this is the best site for most ranger owners out there. This cannot be led into a brick wall of bitching and unpleasantness. I'll go nuts and then I may be forced to stop my internet service altogether.

A few of the other sites I go to are only worth looking at for a few minutes per day and it's really getting to me.

The older I get, the more I stop using the things that addict other people. I don't watch TV anymore. I hate the radio. I may soon get rid of internet. I also stopped drinking just a few months ago.

Last thought... Who thinks I'd do a good job of writing a letter to my congressman? I'm damn sure tempted to do it with most of my time each day.

(P.s. F_ck those states that allow same sex marriages. I had that discussion with my coworkers tonight, so I'm still steamed about it. None of them believed me when I said the bible is the word of God and it specifically states that "Homosexuals shall never enter into the kingdom of heaven", as well as "God does not make men homosexuals, men choose it for themselves". If anybody guess it, you're right... I do not like lesbians either.)

judging by what I read here I would say you could write a great letter to a congressman or any other elected official for that matter, and though this is the only ranger site I go to I have to agree there is getting to be too many political topics

I will agree that this site is amazing. My truck would not be anywhere near where it is today (sitting in my mom's driveway with a dead engine, lol), and I would not know half the things I know, not just about Rangers. If I have a problem, I can always find the answer on here, and if not, then somebody on here will know it.

There are a lot of people on here from all walks of life with vastly different opinions, so there are bound to be some heated discussions and arguments. I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing though, IF kept moderated. Things certainly seem to have calmed down since the election, and I think they will continue to do so. I do value discussion threads since they show all (or most) sides to an issue.

I do really appreciate the people on here, not only offering kind words, but helpful suggestions and constructive criticism. I have never even thought of joining RPS or any other Ranger site, nor do I think I have ever visited any.... Well I was a member of BII.org years ago, but forgot my password and lost interest after I found this place.

well, Insanejughead, I was with ya til that post script. But I'm confused about what you were planning to write to your congressman about, TRS?

I am bored and burned out on life in general.

You are 100% right. Im a member of RPS as well. I have not been on in a while simply because I like TRS so much better. After RPS had the problems with their server being hacked its been downhill over there ever since. I'm proud to be a member of TRS.

I have kids, I know that movie line by line.

I haven't done anything cool since I got out of the Army. as I look around I think to myself, I used to be cool, what the hell happened, and how did that god awful minivan get in my driveway?

Thats good you know the movie. I think I might pop it in right now lol. But saying cool is like saying normal. Everybody has their own explanation to what the word means. Yes your out of the Army (by the way thanks for serving) but times change, people get older (don't take this the wrong way I don't know how old you are), and things in life become more important then being cool. Like family. Thus since you said kids which means you prob have more then one you have the minivan. Safe transportation. Yea it may not be cool but its your choice. Being "cool" or doing things that will help the family. I would take the family anyday of the week. but hey sit back, relax, have a beer :icon_cheers: and watch finding nemo. lol

The Ranger Station is the only reason my truck hasn't been junked, hasn't been sold yet, and hasn't been horrible beaten with a sledge hammer.

Home Page, Sweet Home Page...

Even though it's not my actual home page...I tried RPS and a few others...didn't like the confusing sigs and other eyesores that grace their pages...and that's why I would encourage others to become premium members...so Jim doesn't have to sell more ads to clutter up the simple pages we read here...it's only $10...not like a huge amount of money over a year...

I would say you could write a good letter to your Congressman...but not sure what you want to write about...

If it's concerning gay rights then just remember...gays have been fighting and banding together for decades and many are in politics...I admire their collective efforts but don't necessarily agree completely...I won't elaborate because this is a touchy subject for some...if smokers had half the ambition that homosexuals do there would be smoker-friendly private/public places available where we could meet, mingle, and otherwise freely associate with other like-minded people (as outlined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms)...

Oh, and I have to say that I spent many hours composing and writing letters to politicians all the way up to the Prime Minister of Canada...got me nowhere, but I had to do it...

i think of you guy's as my friends. and we can and do share a lot of info with each other. TRS is the only site a have joined and suport.and do vote for every time i log on.

I feel your pain.
Look at my sig.Owning a minivan does lower your IQ by 20 points. My wife hates it and drives my xterra and makes me drive the ody as service vehicle.

I am on a number of sites...BII.org, Pirate etc

TRS is the only one I keep coming back to, I think it's the best one out there, what I like most is how the forum is displayed, easy to read etc. Jim O FTW
