And here's the harness from a Mustang. I got all the other connectors labeled, but I don't quite know what the purpose of these three connectors are. The diagram I had wan't very clear on these three.

Whats the green one for?

The black and grey ones

the green one should have had a relay pluged into it, it is the EEC relay. and if i am looking at it correctly the black and grey ones are next to the code scaner plug right? if so, one of them plugs into the O2 sensor harness and i think the other is for air bags (not used), what year was the mustang?

just cause it plugs in doesnt mean the wires are in the right spot. you need to check EVERY wire. some you really dont even need

exactly! such as the air bag stuff.

I'm starting to lean more towards the injection harness from the f-150. The wiring seems to be similar.

The only difference is the injection harness has an extra plug for what I believe to be the "spare" fuel tank pump, which is unused.

The mustang harness has no power steering plug-in and there are too many wires to sort out. I think I'll use the truck injection harness.

Now, if I plug the Mustang computer into the ranger's engine harness and use the f-150 injector harness, will it fire up or do I have to switch some wires around?

Boy, Think you are heading for trouble. What year Mustang harness did you show in your pictures? The F-150 used the "Batch" fire system for the injectors, not sure how that's going to work with what you have. That harness is just for the engine controls/sensors. The green rectangle shaped connector is for:

This is for a '93' 5.0 Mustang

youre gonna be pissed if you keep mismatching all that stuff. either use mustang stuff or f150 stuff. theres many issues that will be problems if you swap computers and harnesses., they are similar, but do you even know if what you have is mass air? the f150 probably is not. what years are they? and do you have a stang computer to match what year stang year harness you have? 88 and earlier isnt mass air

oh and you dont need a power steering plug in

First of all, calm down:icon_surprised:, second of all, my HELMINC print for the Ranger came today. Man, this thing is SWEET!:icon_thumby: I've never seen so much detail in a wiring diagram before, and it's easy to read.:icon_thumby: They didn't have one for the mustang, but I'll get one somehow.

calm down what? i wasnt excited

Do you have an aquaintance in the automotive industry that has access to Mitchell Diagnostics, or ALLDATA? I'd suggest going to a shop, and even take 'em a whole ream of paper, ask 'em if they'll print out a diagram for the Mustang. Even if you don't have a friend with access and you go "begging" to whatever shop... ... They aren't as good as Helms diagrams, sometimes you'll find errors (for whatever application) and color-coding may or may not be right all the time. The OEM diagrams are great, even providing part #'s for connectors that you can take to a dealership, if you have to. But, in a pinch, my Mitchell donor diagrams, along with the Helm OEM Ranger diagram, have gotten me where I needed to go.

You said you ordered TWO. If one was the Ranger diagram, what was the other? I find it hard to believe that Helm didn't have a diagram for a Mustang!
