Came on so I replaced the sensor on rear end of truck. Light remained on. Do I have to get it cleared like a CEL? Local stealer wants $59.95 to read code and clear. Any way I can do this free?

this is a stupid question, but is your fluid resivoir full?

Fluid reservoir brings on the red BRAKE light, not the yellow ABS sensor light.
$60 is a good price is he clears the code AND tells you what the code is.
My understanding is that the ignition turn on self test will clear the light if no faults are found.
My local Midas could not help me, I think the Ford dealer is the best choice.

my abs light and red ebrake light were both on when my fluid was low.

correct. low fluid level turns on BOTH lights...not one or the other.

ABS lights dont need cleared...they stay on until the problem goes away, then they go out. since its still illuminated, theres still a problem.

+1

I was trying to bust the frozen drums loose with the engine on the axle I just put under my truck and didn't have the sensor plugged in yet and the light came on. Went under the truck, plugged it in, turned the truck back on and it went out after the lamp test.
