Hey everyone i'm glad to join the fourm......I have read up on what is out there on the fourm for the 2.3 motor but i just wanted to know what some of the best setups have been done on your rides? I have a 94xlt 2.3 with a 5 speed and i have a 89 block to work from as a donor. I don't want to spend a years pay on it but i want some spunk. The truck will be used for the mud only and i already plan a gear change....so i wanted to see what a good combo you guys have used and what to stay away from....Hey thanks alot and have a good one.....

4.88's and 33's. if you are building a mud truck isn't a V8 a better choice for engine?

well i have all ready went that route once. I had a dodge 318 with a 4 speed granny low. and ran 3/4 ton axles with 4.10 and 44 gumbo mudders. This combo was in my ranger(89) it was alright until a tree fell on it. I just wanted to see what was out there for the 2.3!!!!! also i'm not building a all out mud slinger it is for trails too.

Bore it 60 over, whack the head and block 60.2.5 crank and pistons,Stage 2 roller cam,Schoenfeld header, good port job on the head and either upgrade the EFI or go to a carb.If you can do the assembly yourself, should be somewheres between $1000 and $1800 depending on what you can buy a 2.5 assembly for.

i can used a 2.5 assem in my 2.3? almost like a stroker right?

still had a question about the wireing, since it is a mud buggy can i carb a 93 block the way it is or do i have to change alot over. and is the stroker kit that makes the 2.3 a 2.5 good for my motor. This will be built just want to go the best route.
