I put 7x15 Explorer rims on my stock 98 XLT.
I would like to upgrade the front rotors if possible.
I don't see anything that includes a 1998 in the Tech section.
Do I have any options to install a larger rotor on my 2WD.
And should I be searching for early Explorer brake parts.

if you have coil springs custom brackets will be needed. talking 98+ years.
but,,, the biggest rotors that fit your 15" wheels are only 11.25"
what rotor diameter do you have now?

I have 285mm front rotor and 10 rear drums.

I had what I considered inadequate brakes for towing on my 02 Ranger from the factory. In fact, I felt they were marginal even when not towing. I upgraded the pads to ceramic and that improved the braking beyond satisfactory. I now use Akebono ceramic pads. I think they should also make them for a 98 Explorer.

That is an easier upgrade compared to larger rotors.
