New tools you've bought recently?

So I ordered the laptop and didn't get it. Got a Acer A515. Currently waiting on the return shipping label. Oddly enough the seller listed an identical laptop to the one I ordered the next day for $80 more. Seems like a scam of some kind. WisetekMarket-CA on ebay. Hmm.

Bought a 20T press from Eastwood. Was able to pick it up at their retail store so I save $350 on shipping.

Much nicer then the HF ones since you can slide the ram left/right, and it has a longer stroke.

I picked up tall jack-stands to use under my car lift. Home made but good workmanship. Paid $50 for the pair. I couldn't buy the material for that price... I'll need to weld feet to the bottom once I confirm the height is correct. There is about 6" of height adjustment on the screw-jack at the top.

How do you like it?
I have not actually used it yet, but it looks like it will work very well for me when I do. I am going to be installing Eibach 2.0 Pro coilovers on my Bronce fairly soon and will find out then how much I Iike it.

10-32 gun tap.
building shelves and need to tap about 200 holes. the back 'n forth with my 4 flute plug tap wasn't cutting it, literally.
the 2 flute gun taps can take the torque of a low speed drill.
also splurged and bought several letter sized drills for other sized threads.

I was really lucky to have bought a retired machinists toolbox for $200 many years ago. All the letter drills, number drills, metric drills, and of course sae drills. And to top it off, taps of all sizes up to 1" and equivalent in metric. Not to mention many, many other small tools. I figured out later there was well over $3,000 worth of tools in that box!...
I had answered the ad just for the tool box which I needed at the time. He thru in the tools no charge!

I didn't buy it myself my brother Andy and his girlfriend/Wife/Babymomma give it to me.

I'm at my brother Larry's house now. He lives very close to Highway/Interstate 75 and I plugged it in and tried it out.
I played around with it and all I picked up was on the setting for the weather station or whatever it is it gave me the weather.
Which I think the weather thing is on a different frequency than the actual CB frequencies I don't know for sure though.

I don't for know for sure about anything about CB'S I've only played around with them a few different times I don't really know nothing about them.

Can anyone tell me what the " SQUELCH " adjustment knob is for?

I took a video and made this link to show how close Larry's house is to the highway.
I hope the link works for everyone.

Can someone please let me know if the link is working or not.
Thanks

The video worked.

Checkout the website https://www.rightchannelradios.com/blogs/learning-center

The sell cb radio parts, but they also have a lot of good information in general about cbs.

Thank You @alwaysFlOoReD for letting me know the video works.

Thank You @Roert42 for also letting me know the video works.
And Thank You again for the link to check out and be able to learn more about CBs.

squelch is like selective hearing.
you don't hear anything until the squelch level is exceeded.
it's intent is to cancel low level noise/signals allowing only strong signals thru.

small antennas like that have limited range, only a couple miles transmitting with reception being a bit further.

@pjtoledo Thank You for answering my question for me.

The package says it has up to a 3 mile range.

One thing I do know about CB'S is that the antenna plays a very big part when it comes to how far away the reception is.

I was approximately 75 ft away from Interstate 75 at my brother's house and I wasn't picking up no CB signals.

I did pick up the weather station on the other setting of the CB however.

So from what I understand from what you just said, If I have the squelch turned all the way down " to where the radio is giving me what sounds like a lot of static " that means I should pick up more signals that are weaker rather than stronger.
Is that right?

That is exactly the same radio.

yep, all signals if it's turned all the way down.
