Pic Request: 4th Gen Factory Jack

Meh, that one is fairly unmolested, my experience is more with the '90 that was built in '89 so it has a 3 wire oxygen sensor and random differences all over like the fuel pump wiring that was different than the '89 Ranger I got the frame from somehow... Having a '90 Ranger you have to know certain details before you order parts... heck the window regulator I just ordered is only '89-92 for some reason... probably the length of the shaft for the handle...

I do know that there are certain parts of the dash that are only for '96 and '97 even though it looks the same from '95 through '11, and all of the random differences over just the '95-97 year range... There's likely logic in places and I like improvement but dang, they even changed the shade of interior colors in '98 for the tan...

Eons ago one member on here bought a new early 00's Ranger, had it for like a month before he realized the door panels were two different colors of gray...

Yeah, Ford has done some wild stuff over the years. The inside of the Ranger beds was the same from 83-11, but other things are nowhere near as consistent.

The one family friend of ours has a 96 Explorer, it’s mid to late 96 model year production. It is solidly stock but parts for it… well, it’s about a 60/40 mix of 96 parts and 95 parts. Zero consistency too, IIRC the key cylinder is a 95 part but the ignition switch is a 96. Mind you that 95 was the changeover year from the first gen to second gen so this inconsistency really doesn’t make sense.

Heck it took me a couple years to really see the differences in the door panels in my '97 that I put a '94 door on, same grey but the '94 has different material ('97 is vinyl so yeah...), the front corner is angled to meet the respective dash of both, inside door pull on the '94 door is a pocket, '97 is a through hole... The seats although looking the same from afar have different material and the seatbelts are integrated differently between '94 and '97...
