Windshield freezeing

I will tell you if all else fails and you still have the one problem spot, they do make windshields now with defects in them. Carefully inspect the glass, it might have a dip in it at the problem spot. Been there, done that.
Well it’s actually the original windshield so I mean maybeeee it’s messed up but it’s werid because the streak ends exactly were the passenger wiper stops

Can you get a picture of the streak or a short video?

Sounds to me like the rubber in your wipers is hard and needs replaced, but you say they're fairly new...

The next time this stream happens I will get a picture but I also looked at the arms and kinda pushed the spring around a bit and made sure it was anchored right but we haven’t had like a snow recently it only does it when it’s cold

I missed that part of the problem.

Definitely sounds like hard rubber then. As the temps go down, it gets harder. Depending on how often it's a problem you might want to look into "winter" or "high silicone" wiper blades. I usually just let mine chatter until the friction warms the rubber and makes em work right.

Okay well shoot, text time I need to replace I’ll do that.

BTW, I keep the cheapest thing I can find (usually Ollie's $2 each) and replace them often. Like every six to 8 weeks. Mom has exactly the opposite philosophy. She buys the fanciest thing she can find, ($60 each is not unheard of) and doesn't change them for a couple years.

that sounds like micro scratches in the glass from the wipers.
have you tried a water repelling glass treatment?

I put ford ones on mine, I guess maybe it could be this trucks defroster is only in the middle of the window and not a long the whole window like new vehicles?

Not yet I really need to get that done dads got some on his truck and on moms car I just never did it to mine

I switched to the Duralast Flex blades years ago. Less to freeze up in the winter with those style blades and those seem to be a decent quality, I usually get two years out of a pair. Anymore I buy them in bulk for a discount because I can. Of course, the front blades on everything I own are the same which makes it easy.

Well there ya go I may get thru this winter and summer then put new blades on

your/anybody's results may vary, but my 2019 Edge is still running the factory blades at 96,000 miles.
when those blades are parked they are hidden from the sun. that probably helps.
I usually get a couple years out of various brands of blades on the 2005 Ranger. it has 380,000 miles.

I’ll also throw out that I try to remember to periodically clean the wiper blades with a rag and some rubbing alcohol, you’d be surprised at how dirty they can get.
