Tried a new place for breakfast today. It's difficult to put a unique twist on breakfast. But this place is doing it. Operated by Mexicans/Hispanics. The grits have a tiny bit of spiciness. The biscuit gravy has some unique flavors - not overbearing, but a pleasant surprise of flavor. The coffee is very good. It isn't just clear tan water. And that biscuit is so fluffy and yummy and generously sized. Oh, yeah!

Looks like what we called a " sheet biscuit " in prison.
They feel up a cookie sheet with biscuits and while they're cooking the merge together.
Then they cut them back a part once they're done cooking.

The top of the biscuit was golden brown with melted butter on it. Yes, I'm sure it was made the way Doug described it. Except, in this case, maybe a little more love and care put into the process. I haven't had many biscuits that rivaled it for being moist, fluffy and just plain perfect. And, here in the south, that's really saying something. People just about fight over whose biscuits are best around here.

My plan was to make lamb stew today... but i forgot to get the lamb and guanciale out of the freezer last night.

So flatbread pizza tonight.... lamb stew tomorrow.

dinner tonight was cleaning out the 'fridge
thick slice of bologna, last of the yellow potato salad, some chili-cheese-mac hamburger helper, and red raspberries
might have some popcorn later.

I was given a Subway gift card the other day when I was at the re-entry office.

So I'm having a Subway Club with the works on it.
