Something changed, quote links and latest posts

Something has changed with how things linked within the forum. Not sure if it's on my side or in the software.

When I click a quote to go to the original post it now dumps me at the top of the page. It used to take me directly to the post.

Used to be that when I open a thread I've already read, it took me to the latest unread post. Now, like with quotes, it dumps me out at the top of the page.

I figure they are related since they seemed to happen at the same time. I liked the old way better, but if that's just how the software is now, I'll live with it.

So if you click the notification icon at the top of the forum and select a post notification, it's dropping you directly to that post?

I noticed this myself...

It happened at the same time that @Jim Oaks added the new search line at the top of the page.

I've been experiencing the same thing over the past few days. And it's inconsistent; some times it takes me to the last unread post, like it should, but more often it opens at the top of the page.

If you're looking at new posts... instead of taking you to the first new post... it takes me to the top of the page.

That makes sense for it to have happened then. That also affected the normal site search. When I use it I get a popup for the new banner search covering the results page. Easy enough to just close, but it took a minute to figure out why it was hapening at first.

Yes.

And, if I click in the quote above, it takes me to where that quote came from.

I'm probably doing it right by accident.

weird...

If I click the quote in Eric's post it takes me straight to fastpakr's post.

Go over to the WDYDTYRT? thread if I clock on a quote where the original is on the same page it works right. If the original is on a different page, it seems to be hit or miss.

Seems to be working right if its on the same page. If it's on a different page its almost like some of the time the loading process doesn't complete. It'll open the correct page, but then doesn't scroll down to the right post.

It does seem to be hit or miss a bit.

The Dank Memes thread does weird stuff too.

Same issues here. Noticed the change just recently. Mainly it's going to the top of the page instead of the actual quote/post.
