What did YOU do today?

The 2019 is packed, the grass has been cut, and the trailer has been prepped. I just need to finish the laundry and take a drive over to the beer distributor for some adult beverages for us. Jessica is in charge of the food, and as per her usual day off, scheduled way more crap than she should have. But she usually gets it done.

I uttered a curse word while changing the oil. Napa Gold oil filters are now proudly made in the Peoples Republic of China, a source of quality products recognized world wide.
I can get Wix from another supplier, and will do so next time. Open the box when you are in the store to see where the product actually came from.

I picked my plums, there is still about half a gallon of half ripe ones in the trees but I had a bumper crop!

What did I do today?

Drove my Ranger through the river and over the woods.

Hosed the truck and specifically the bed down, gravel dust is a force to be reckoned with and I didn’t have time for a full wash. Loaded most of my stuff, some of my friends stuff. Also put in that air filter I bought the other day. I love how easy they are to change on these trucks. One 5/16 nut for the hose clamp, and the rest is toolless.

Within the last 3 years Wix was sold to Mann and Hummell who discontinued a BUNCH of Wix products that were good and replaced them with sub par components... so just add that to one of the many automotive things that the rona situation screwed up in the automotive parts world... so many things are discontinued it is not even remotely funny... The timing of that coincides with the prices of oil filters doubling or tripling over the last couple years...

The console and shifter disassembly & cleaning went well. I saw all the bolts they striped out, it was clean inside, think they simply badly kinked the shift cable, still a little stiff. Lubed. We'll see.

Forecast calls for rain today, doubt it.

Belton hamfest is coming up for all you ham radio operators. Belton Hamfest. The yellow sub attending.

That AC compressor copied Volvo's design that had some sort of tilt plate inside that allowed the compressor to throttle itself at other settings, and YES it does run when not set to just the 2 settings. Cold air vs cool ambient air is a thing down in this part of the south I must say! We know when "it ain't werkin". Early 2000 when they started running it all the time to some extent. My '83 never had Ac and I lived in Tempe,AZ for a year~

Cut the grass? ha! I'm up to my second set of blades this year. Still waiting on speakers & dynamat for the subwoofer project.

I seem to recall a YouTube video on this very topic recently.. Royalty Auto Service maybe?

Edit:

and

if anyone's interested in that.

Get to grandma's house safely?
Grandma's house is OVER the river and THROUGH the woods.

THROUGH the river and OVER the woods might be the way to the witches house from Hansel and Gretel? Or maybe just where to find a campfire pizza?

Holy moly, that's a lot of plums. I have two questions:
1) Plums grow in South Dakota?
and
2) What do you do with excess plums? I'm assuming pickled plums don't taste very good. 😉

We definitely went through the river.

I wasn't questioning that at all. It sounds like you're heading towards the gingerbread house and/or campfire pizza, instead of towards grandma's house. Unless they happen to be one and the same.
