Hey everyone I was wanting to get some more experienced opinions on this before i spend any money, I plan to install a holley sniper 2 efi in my 1990 ford ranger with a 302 swap in it but I want a ford style guage cluster to work with it, so i was recommended to check out "Dakota Digital" a website for digital gauges for older cars, they have one for a late 80s early 90s f150 that looks almost identical to the ones in the rangers of the same era and was wondering if the f150 guage cluster can bolt in the ranger dash? any help is greatly appreciated

What does the gauge cluster have to do with the EFI system? In those years they were two totally separate systems electrically. Your original cluster should work fine with any aftermarket EFI system you choose to run.

good question, the original gauge isnt digital like the holley system is so the original gauges wont work with the efi, thats why I mentioned "Dakota Digital" because they make factory looking gauge clusters that work on holley sniper 2 efi, but they only make one for f150s not rangers, so i was wondering if they have the same mounting spots so i can fit the Dakota Digital gauge cluster thats intended for an f150 in my ranger, just reread your comment and realized i didnt really answer your question, sorry, the problem is all the smaller gauges, pretty much everything but spedo and tach

you just leave all of the sensors for the ranger in place and all of your gauges work.

the sniper uses sniper stuff.

or do you want to be able to tune and interface with your sniper.?.?

buy a dedicated tablet thing for that ... run the blue tooth module and the sniper app.

cheap and easy. i run the terminator x and its pretty nice compared to hp tuners.

I no longer have any factory sensors due to the engine and trans swap so if i can get a gauge cluster to work with the holley system i can make a fully separate harness for the powertrain

That is neat, I did not know they had that. Learn something new everyday.

But all you have to do is buy the 1990 ranger sensors and thread them into the 302 block. The threads for the sensors are simple pipe threads. If the threads happen to be different diameters from the v6 to the v8, you can use a simple pipe adapter. But I bet the sensors are the same threads. The factory sensors already have their own wiring separate from the v6 computer wiring.

good to know, ill add it as an option, my list of options is ever growing😅, id still lile to know if an f150 cluster can fit though cause it would make getting new gauges real easy if i ever want to

Just for your info list. the temp sender for a 1990 ranger with a 2.9 has the same part number as a 1990 f150 with a 5.0. I didn't look up the oil sender unit, but I bet it's the same also.
