2.3L ('83-'97) 92 2.3l turbo

Yeah, the only forged pistons I could find that were decent were circle track units that say on them not recommended for forced induction... which is why I took the best 4 out of 7 stock pistons I had from two engines and assembled that for what I'm running now... also why I am running ARP rod studs which was the reason for only having 7 :), was likely my fault, nut probably fell off but better safe than sorry...

If my stock jumbled junk ran worse I'd look harder into aftermarket fuel control, doesn't run great but does what I want too...

Cheap forged pistons are non-existent now. I paid $600 for a semi custom set of Wiseco pistons designed to use the short 2.3 rod with the Ranger 2.5 crank. Whatever you get, they must be dished.

Megasquirt firmware has a dual table mode that allows switching fuel tables with a toggle switch for different fuels.

I use Racetronix (sp?) for injectors.
Would a mega squirt ecu be able to handle a turbo? This is new to me.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has found a complete or close to complete turbo kit that would work for my 1992 Ranger 2.3L. I plan on rebuiling it soon and would like to turbo it if possible. Thanks in advance. :)
I have an almost complete kit manifold/turbo, turbo maf, turbo cam, also have a Turbo oil pan, forged rods and pistons used but good. $1000 picked up in NC. Can send pics if truly interested

2.3's detonate at anything over 8:1 compression with pump gas. Even the 7.4:1 engine I built would ping on 93 octane on a hot NV day. I got around it by running E85 in the summer (another advantage of running aftermarket injection).

Don't stock 2.3ts run 8.5?

'84-88 Turbo 2.3L's are 8:1, N/A 2.3L's are 9-9.2:1 if memory serves
