Just wrapped up the '63 F250.

I'm slowly working my 9 year old towards building kits of various types. Model wise he's mostly done Lego and Rokr kits plus some model rockets, but recently he's added in electronics projects with lots of soldering. It's a shame there are so few hobby shops left with local stock of tons of car and plane models. That would be a good next step for him.

i saw the coolest ford van model kit at an antique shop last weekend. it was still in the box and the parts were still wrapped in the plastic sheets in the box (i looked inside wondering how complete it was, it appeared fully complete).

it looked like a perfect van to do an A Team model with. i think it was a late 70s body style versus the 80s gmc van used in the show, though

funny, google found a pic of hte kit

The picture is the reissue, which is available right now. Basically the same kit but with better decals and tires. But the original kit might have better plastic and less mold marks.

Some of the stunt vans used in the A Team were Fords so it wouldn't be that far off.

My Son found a half-finished Peterbilt 359 model I was working on back when I was still in college, 15+ years ago. Somehow it survived all the moves since then; I didn't even know I still had it. So now we're finishing it together, and bought an amt cement truck to do next. I'd also like to do the OBS Ford kit and make it as close as I can to my '94 F250.

Nice!! Is there an actual F250 kit or are you adapting the F150 kit? I haven't been able to find an OBS 250 kit. It would be super cool if I could find the 7.3IDI that's in my truck but I doubt it's out there.

I might have found a kit with an International IDI. There's a IH 4300 model from amt that looks like it might have the 7.3/6.9 in it. I could use that and get a different engine to build the semi tractor up. I'll have to research a little more.

The 4300 has the IH V800 engine, totally different beast from a 7.3.

There are a couple of resin/3D printed 7.3 engines but if I remember they're all Power strokes. I'd need to check and see what was available.
