Good day guys,

I have a 2010 Ford Ranger International model (automatic transmission) and very recently the O/D OFF indicator started blinking constantly, I have also realized that while driving, the gear changes with a hard thud. I got the vehicle scanned and an error code U0101 is present, which is a communication failure with the TCM (transmission control module).
Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

In addition to the possibilities listed of bad TCM or bad communication network (wiring) between the PCM and TCM, it is also possible that the PCM is bad.

hey bud , just got my vehicle scanned again and they say that its a sensor that needs to be changed, when i do it and its successful i will post the fix.

Another possibility, though the truck seems kind of new for that, is the wires running from the overdrive button getting chaffed in the column. They tend to be very thin wires and some have had issues with the coating on the wire getting worn and shorting to the metal in the steering column.
