What did YOU do today?

Out at the GF house dealing with the pool. She hasn't taken care of it while I was home so now it's green again. Ugh...

There was a tree that for some reason produces berries that was growing over the pool so I cut some limbs off to prevent the berry's falling in the pool. I must say I'd rather ductape a full sized 14" bar chain saw to a stick than use her poll saw. The cutter on it only cuts 3/4 of the hook size and is the next best thing to useless that way so everything had to be sawed.

I scrapped at the bottom of the pool to get as much of the junk I could off the bottom without being able to see the bottom with the skimmer. Plan for tomorrow is to try and use the vacuum she has to get more up.

Is she still your girlfriend after you cut all those branches and dropped them in the pool and turned the pool green?

Is it a salt pool or a chlorine pool?

Might just be me, but…

….couple gallons of Chlorox.

(& yeah, Sweet Pea is my gal, regardless of…)

A chlorine pool. She had the chemicals but didn't keep adding any since I threw in two packs of shock over a week and a half ago so it turned green again.

She just informed me that more branches need to come off so that is added to the list for tomorrow.

It'll come around but I can't spend the time on it that it needs so she needs to do some of the work too.

The speakers I installed in the doors a few months back caused some resonance on the exterior door panel that was causing the music to sound hollow, so I installed Kilmat in one doors after work. I only did one of the doors because it was 100 degrees with 15% humidity when I started. An hour later it was 100 degrees with 33% humdity. Just enough to make it annoying. So, I finished one door. I'll do the other door when it isn't so hot. The Kilmat did get rid of the hollow sound.

Okay, great! I’m holding my breath. 😜

Keep me posted.

Salt pools are still chlorine pools, they just use an electrolytic cell to produce the Chlorine in the pool water vs. dumping in bleach. The sanitizing agents are the same regardless of method. You can shock a salt pool the same as one using only liquid chlorine. I plan to add a salt cell to mine at some point but other costly things keep getting in the way.

When shocking, I've read it's best to use plain bleach. Either regular Clorox or the higher concentrated versions for "pool use." There are calculators that can tell you how much you need to add to shock and maintain. I've been heavily chlorinating mine as the pump broke down last Thursday. I assembled everything yesterday and should be able to install the parts this evening as the sealant will be cured out. Sometimes I want to just fill mine in with gravel...

Yesterday I managed to get the transmission in the F-150 almost ready to drop to do the slave cylinder. Pain in the neck. And back. And it rains rust with every move you make. If I didn’t need it so bad right now I’d park it. Hopefully today I can get the slave cylinder replaced and start putting it all back together.

Double cut the yard that hasn't been mowed for a week and unpacked.

Watching the congressional baseball game on FS1. 2-zip for GOP.

Democrats keep identifying as the ball being in the glove, but the umpires’ not having any of that…..

Went to Home Dumpster and got a battery operated poll saw. Cut down a bunch of limbs and stacked them for the city to collect. Skimmed pool, vacuumed some of it and found her vacuum is a pain without being able to see the bottom. Cleaned the filter 4 or 5 times and hand skimmed a bunch of times.

Only hit the pool with one branch but in my defense it was on a flip after it had hit the ground and I cut the last little bit that was still holding onto to the trunk. Not a hard hit but enough to say yeah I touched the pool with a branch. Considering they were over the pool I think I did good.

Got the transmission dropped in the F-150 after a long fight and a bit of cussing at it. Should have just bit the bullet and dropped the transfer case and pulled the shifter pan/plate thing under the carpet. Turns out parts won’t be here till tomorrow because they sent my slave cylinder back to hub. Whatever. Tomorrow we try to get it back together.

I love Craigslist!

Lincoln and I did an 8:30 run for some free lawn chairs 5 miles away. At that time of night here, a 5 mile run takes as long as a 5 mile run, not a 50 mile run like rush hour.

I was just about to buy a couple at Lowe’s. These are actually Lincoln goes to pee senior observation stations….

got my actual threaded shift knob i ordered. a nice black heavy metal club looking knob thats makes the arm a little longer, also. it threaded on perfectly and looks great.

i would post a picture but i cannot send picsto my work email without the IT deal blocking the pictures as spam. no matter what i named them, also.

i also got the replacement dust boot on, that goes on the shifter base (since the one that came with it from the guy i got it from, was torn).
