Havent found a clear answer on this, but when it comes to off road bumpers, will they bolt to any generation truck? I.e. an off road bumper from a 96 bolt on to an 86, etc

Nope, gotta stay with the same generation. You might be able to adapt some but that isn't really "bolting on"

So the frame widths are different? All id need is for it to bolt the frame
Im not concerned with body width, and im on a 3" body lift as well.

No idea, Ranger frames are shaped like a wet noodle.

Frame ends are different, especially first gens where the bumper just bolts on the end of the frame (grille guard use the same bolts as the bumper) vs trucks with bumper brackets.

There are frame width variasions and the way the bumper bolts to the frame changed. You pretty much have to stick with a bumper made for your year of truck unless you have the equipment to fabricate your own brackets and modify whatever you can find without buying new.

The grill profiles have changed here and there too. So, something else to look at when looking to repurpose a bumper.
