What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

No. I'm the one that is mixed up
I already gave you the carrier. What I still have is the license plate bracket to fit in the middle of the tire.

Wow. I never expected that carrier to break like that. It's been through some rough stuff. Most of the tubing started out as a bicycle carrier that I cut up.
This was a peice I had. I used a peice I had laying around to make it longer. I cut that peice of square tube you had it welded to and welded it on a new peice. One to make it longer to swing down and clear the mechanism. Two to compensate for the offset of these factory wheels.

Hit 69,000 miles.

The 2019 has been put into active service instead of being in reserve and family transport. The girlfriend got rear eneded in the clown car yesterday. She's fine but sore and the car got towed for insurance evaluation. Knowing how insurance works, she won't know if it's repairable or going to be totaled for at least a week or two.

Spring maintenance is coming due as well. So, I'll fighting for access to the thing in order to do to it what needs to be done. Such is life...

The important thing is the doctor said that other than being banged up, the girlfriend is fine. The car is replacable, people aren't.

New windshield wipers to replace the winter blades.
Rock Auto, even with shipping they cost less than Walmart.
Thanks to global warming the winter blades were not faced with much snow and ice this year so they're on the shelf and should be good for another season.

Well the car is totaled. I was expecting that being she was at a full stop at an intersection and she got rammed from behind by a person who didn't stop because they were too busy bending over to puke. I guess we'll be doing some vehicle shopping...

My cousin owns Auto Specialties of Beaver County in Midland. He mostly buys rebuildables at auction so most everything has an R title but then they cost less for that reason. Cars for sale are on their Facebook page.

I'll throw the idea her direction and let her decide. Thanks.

She may enjoy a nice new Ranger or Bronco.

I MIGHT be able to talk her into a used Escape. She can't afford the prices they charge for vehicles now and she doesn't like the fuel economy of the 2019, let alone a Bronco. She's probably going to want to get a car the same size as her Nissan Versa and she needs a hatch back.

CNA pay is not great and they are only giving her $6,000. She just found out yesterday. So, she's going to need to chew on it a bit. I'm expecting that I'm going to have to help her out on payments. She still has to go through the process of signing over the title and what not. So, there is some time yet before she will have a down payment and to figure out what she wants to do. Vehicle interest rates are horrible right now as well.

Square body escape may be the sweet spot for that price range. I've only heard great things about them.

Just a matter of finding something that 15 years old unibody car that's not rusted out.....

Changed the oil. Valvoline synthetic and Motorcraft filter.

I got the Spring maintenance done on the 2019. Engine oil and filter changed, rear brake rotors and pads replaced, front brakes inspected, cleaned, and lubed where appropriate, door, hood, and lift gate/tailgate seals, hinges, and latches lubed, and tires rotated.

Got black trim for the tailgate emblem. All the other trim is black so it kinda stuck out like a sore thumb.

Has anyone had issues with the bottom leaf not staying straight? Mine always tries and points to the center of the truck on the front. So yesterday, I jacked the rear of the truck up and used a 1500lb ratchet strap to pull them back straight. Once I got them straight, I stole some leaf spring retainer like things off a set of old Tacoma leafs we had swapped out. Surprisingly enough, it stopped squeaking, haha. I might add that the bottom leafs were turned in when I broke them down and added the extra leaf. When I reassembled them, I had them back straight. Is anyone else's Leafs doing this?
