Weird lever

Both of my 89 Bronco IIs had that. Pretty sure my 92 Ranger has it. I’ll have to check the other stuff around here

Ok, so it's sounding like it either changed with the wiring change in mid '92 or with the body style change in '93, odd...
Was there a mid year change in ‘92? I’ve never seen it in a ‘93 either. Maybe Ford ran out of parts for that style fuse panel before ‘93 and already had the new dash design for ‘95 in the works.

My best guess is the fuse box changed when the ECM moved.

They changed the cluster in mid '92 to a different color circuit board and is pinned differently so if you convert to a tach cluster you need one from the right version and apparently a lot of the dash wiring is different in that split color wise at least...

Not much to the bracket. The fuse panel in my ‘94 has the screw holes that would hold it to said bracket and it’s just screwed through the bottom lip of the dash. As long as there’s enough slack in the wiring harness, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to add it to a truck without it.

I can't believe you'd rather do that than sit upside down in the seat looking up the firewall at the dashboard
That's worse than waterboarding.

I think this was only an option for a year or two, IIRC I saw it more on 90 and 91’s than any other year. I have 92 & 94 Explorers that do not, my 94 Ranger does not, my old ‘89 Ranger did not. Pretty sure the last ‘91 Explorer I junked had one of those though.

The bean counters probably killed it.

With that being said, I cleaned the broken glass and dirt off of the vin tag and this truck is actually a ‘90.

My '89 ranger, my '89 BrII, and my sister's two 92 explorers have that style fuse box.
Edit: Her '91 has that style but her '92 does not.

Something to keep an eye out for in the junkyard. I've often wondered how you are supposed to change that flasher relay on the back of the fuse panel.

Suffer like the rest of us.
