New tools you've bought recently?

DeWalt Jobsite table saw, DW745 (discontinued model, about 3 years ago) with the Vega Utility 26 fence system. Still shopping for a miter guide; currently making use of my trusty ole Black + Decker Workmate 550 as a stand.

Put in a fresh 24 tooth Diablo, ready to rip ..)

I picked up a few odds and ends at the truck show in Carlisle.

Of course, Eastwood had a booth. Picked up a saw and extra blades. Plus some diamond cutoff wheels

I saw there tent, but I didn't go in. Were they giving any decent discounts or stuff?

It was probably hit or miss. The saw was only $2 off what I see on the website. But extra blades were $14 instead of $20. No shipping fees. I got a deal. But not a screaming deal. Other things may have been different. I wanted the narrow electric belt sander. But when I went back to actually buy stuff on Saturday afternoon, they were gone. The tent really looked like they had sold a lot of stuff.

You will love it. I tolerated a Delta table saw that I found in the trash for many years... it was free! but the motor got a little "loose" when we ripped a bunch of CCA treated 14' long 2x6's. It was pretty unhappy about that experience so I bought a new DeWalt table saw (the bigger model) and it's just totally fantastic. I really believe that it was designed by people that actually use tools.

I'm a Milwaukee guy but I have yet to be disappointed by any corded DeWalt tools - they are brutes.

Went to a "tool sale" today and ended up with a couple things... a 12 speed floor height (whatever, not bench top) drill press, Homelite XL top handle chainsaw and an Echo 1/2" gas powered drill all for $100, they're all still in the back of the Camry right now, maybe pictures tomorrow...

I’ll have to get a pic, but Friday a new punch/chisel set came home with me. Mayhew brand I believe it is, found it at Tractor Supply, made in USA with a lifetime warranty. After having broken 3 Hazard Fraught punches recently, and some of my random punches collected over the years are in hiding, I wanted and needed something better. Hopefully these last the rest of my life. $60 for 5 pin punches, two alignment punches, center punch and prick punch, and three cold chisels

Harbor freight punches are made of brie.
They are good if you like grinding the mushroom tops off your punches all the time.

I can't afford no tools, this just costed me 12 dollars :/

It's too bad they didn't make them out of the same steel they make their letter punches out of. I've had a set of those for years and the tops haven't moved at all and I have not been kind to them either.

I’ve never managed to get one to last long enough to mushroom the top, usually mangle or break them pretty quick. Thought about trying to go through and harden the tips of my remaining ones

Not brand new but new to me, picked up a barely used (if at all) Victor oxy/acetylene torch set, smaller unit but will work nicely for heating fasteners for removal

They may already be too hard and brittle. Hence, breaking easily. That in combination with cheaper metallurgy isn't good. I wouldn't waste any time on them.

Oh I entirely agree

I bought a power steering pump pulley puller. I had to take the pulley off my new to me ranger, and figured it would be a good idea at $20, i have 3 Rangers afterall.
