What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

One more thing stuck to the dash now..... "The Box" is installed for our move to Super/Pro. I've been told not having one is the same as taking a knife to a gunfight.

Picked up a 2008 Ranger driveshaft yesterday that's 60" eye to eye which makes it a direct swap for my 1987 two piece unit. All I have to do is swap the front yoke for the TH350 one.

Getting ready to take it on what is going to be my last drive in it.

Coming home with a Velocity blue 2023 2 door big bend bronco 🥰

I live in the south where we have little rust problems, but my 2001 rear leaf spring hangars rusted out bad. I bought new ones and bolted them on with grade 8 hardware. They never moved since 2007. Everyone told me I'd better weld them on or else. Or else has never happened but this is a daily driver not a hot rod or offroader.
Grade 8 bolts, properly torqued is fine.

You were running a Chevy 350 on a stock two piece driveshaft?

How do you walk with those massive balls?

Have always done it with bolts.

Just bought some for a '96 that came with Grade 8 hardware for installing.

My spring hangars have been fine with grade 8 hardware since 2007 or 2008. I know welding can crack frames and mess stuff up. I couldn't believe so many people kept telling me to weld them in.

Used it for truck stuff. Went to the local nursery for some tomato and pepper plants plus 6 bags of manure. Wife did not want to use her Escape to haul manure, so the Ranger it was.

Now all I need is a squash and zucchini plant and the garden will be ready

We bent spring perches and shattered stock axles but even though it stayed together that 2 piece driveshaft worried me more than anything else. After 3 years of racing and adding more HP all the time now is the time to fix it.

Yes but.... how do you walk?

I tuck mine in my socks so I won’t get that banging noise
