The annual Truck Nationals at the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds will be celebrating the Ranger's 40th anniversary this year.
August 4-6.

Be advised, the Fairgrounds camping is not open for this event.

Is there any sort of racing or is it just a big show?

Just a big show. Being the truck nationals, there will be new and classic semis as well. Also a big swap meet with parts vendors.
You can enter as either showfield - judged or showfield - not judged, which costs a little less and is what I do. Or park outside and buy a spectator ticket.
I found this campground nearby that seems reasonable. There are several, plus hotels. I may just drive out early in the morning Saturday and go back home after.

My campground reservations are made.

Next pay, I'm going to have to make sure I make the camp site reservation. I'll probably do the registration for me then as well. I'll need to start prodding the girlfriend about whether she can attend or not. She has a real bad propensity to procrastinate on things.

When you make the reservation they charge you for one day. Balance due when you get there.
I'm in site 219, Eric is in 218.

@PetroleumJunkie412 is in western PA too but the last I saw him, his picture was on a milk carton. Might be good to have someone carrying the 2.9 flag though.

He’s busier than a one-armed wall paper hanger. Last I heard from him, he was spending a lot of time in central PA. I can message him and see if he can break away for the event but I doubt he’ll be able to.

Each vehicle entry into the show includes two people. Campsites are good for up to six and it's $7 a night for a second tent and I have a spare tent and air mattress that Jon can use if his vehicle isn't ready. Two vehicles are probably okay at the campsite. Or if PJ is already in central PA and doesn't have his Ranger with him he can ride in with one of us or just pay admission at the gate if he wants to hang out.

I messaged him about the event and sent him the link to the event. We'll see what he says.

He's going to make an attempt. He says it depends on the drills. He hopes to have the 2011 back up and running for it too.

So… it has come to my attention that I’m now double booked for this time slot… the Irish Festival in Dublin, OH is on the same days and I’ve said I’d go to that, and Carlisle without realizing it until recently...

If I can get the Ranger together and working right, I might try making both (spend a day or so at the Irish Festival and then zip over to Carlisle for the rest). Or at least that’s my current idea. We shall see how this all shakes out. Way too many things are still up in the air.
