I think when you decide to play in the rocks, you have to accept that body damage is likely inevitable

Absolutely. If you're going to cry about a little body damage, don't go to the playground. Stuff happens, no matter how careful you are. A little miscalculation here and there or the trail gets wet or muddy and is different from the last time you drove it, or there's 20 people cheering and yelling "send it!" And you just have to give in.

Yeah. Stuff happens. That's part of the fun.

The metal on my 93 isn't that thin, by a large margin. It's not as thick as cars from the 40's and 50's. But it's decent. But in that situation, it crumples easy.

Compared to the Chevy Colorado we have at work, the sheet metal is stout.

One of the guys at work leaned on the fender while BSing and bent the fender bad enough that the lip of the door was catching. We had to bend it back so we could keep using the truck. The only other vehicles I’ve ever been around with sheet metal that thin were Geo Metros.
