Truckspotters

Leaving work this afternoon

Reminds me back in the day when racers would tow their race cars to the track with station wagons.

the 4.6L and 4R70W are fine, the 28 spline 8.8 with tiny rear brakes is less than ideal but I bet if they had a brake controller (not likely) that it would be perfectly fine, although not likely legal...

No pictures as it was night and I was driving but a week ago I was following a lifted '89-92 Ranger on ~33's with a service box towing a crane contraption... thought about getting a pic but didn't want flash and it wouldn't have worked without a flash...

Wow. Just saw this at a local restaurant. Looks like it's in nice condition.

Probubly belongs to the dishwasher. Saw a sign at Brahms today simply said $13.00 hr.
I made better money than that in my commercial carpenter work but on the flip side I once worked offshore derricks for less and flew to work on airlines and helicopters

That's pretty clean for a '91-92! (extended headrests started in '91 I think)

Ranger had a meeting today at lunch... Even a fellow custom.

Straight as a pin, had stickers alluding to a 460, chrome Hurst shifter, I'd take it.

Does the wheel chocks come with it?

Found this on marketplace for sale in reading pa looking for trades, says it runs a drives.

The entire interior is late Gen1 (see the warning light cluster.), but he's put a Gen2 front end on the truck. Second, that's not original paint (original paint is red, as seen over l/r wheel arch where fender flare is missing). And the front fender flares don't fit the actual fenders. HOWEVER, the 2.9 is the correct V6 for an '88. BUT, I see enough lack of attention to detail to say I wouldn't touch this truck with a ten foot pole.

At first I thought, gee, that '88 looks free of rust... Then I saw the pic from the right rear corner. The bed has rust behind the right wheel (look at the lower edge behind the flare). So what do the frame and underside look like? (Shuddering)

The photos and descriptions are always gonna look good. That's why I want to get there early.
That's also why I do not want them to show me the vehicle, I want them to let me look at it.
And the first place I want to see is underneath, well, after a glimpse at the dipstick (the motor shouldn't be warmed), and a finger swipe in the tail pipe to see what amount of smut it's spewing

Those alone will fail the most of them
