I have a 2010 Ranger 4 cylinder automatic. Rear end trashed. I know it has disc breaks. But what rear end will swap? ( I know explores came with disc) . What fits? Thanks!!!

For direct easy replacement you are stuck with 2010-2011 I believe, maybe late 2009.

I "think" there are wheel speed sensors at each end and that's the only years of Ranger axles that are like that...

yep, speed sensor at each wheel. needed for Roll Stability Control.
8.8 ring gear, big style wheel bearings, only 28 spline axles.
separate brake line to each wheel.
EDIT: for the 2.3 Duratec Rangers the autos have 4.10 gears, manuals have 3.73

So the only rear end that works is 2010-2011. 4.10gears fot my automatic. And only 8.8 in these years. Thank you!

There's still 7.5 and 8.8 axles if I remember right but there's only 2 engine options so a 2.3L would have a 7.5" and a 4.0L would have an 8.8".

I'm not sure on the ratios, you would have to verify on your door sticker... those ratios might be just 2.3L, 4.0L could probably be anything...

The explorer axles only came with a center speed sensor not outer speed sensors since '02+ explorers had independent rear suspension so that stability control thing wasn't a thing yet. Might be able to use a Mustang axle but that would be more conversion likely...

I pulled an 8.8 from a 2010 that was a 4 banger.
the center housing casting has the bung for watts links, but it isn't machined. no provision for tone ring sensor.

Weird, they apparently just threw whatever at the last couple years... My knowledge of anything '98 and newer is limited, for many years I ignored a lot of things because my bubble only has so many things in it...

I could use a rear end replacement, and I'm not talking about my truck.

So mine is a code 87 which says it a 7.5 with 4.10 gears. Was an 8.8 avaliable in 2010-2011? Thanks.
