1. Hard to believe nobody has put struts on that hood since it should already have the hardware.
2. Those "Raptor" style Ranger SVT badges look Corny for some reason. I think a era correct Ranger SVT badge would look better.

So I'm a little confused here...

SVT made the Ranger 5.0 prototype in '94, but this is listed as a '96. And where did the supercharger come from? Motor Trend's review (and photos) don't mention it (Motor Trend article). The build date is listed as '95, in the photo above, but there's also a comment under the photo calling it a '98 prototype.

🤷🏿‍♂️ dont know..... thought it was cool. It had a bunch of magazines on it etc. Didnt spend much time looking at it

Maybe tomorrow when we go back over I will get more pictures of the paperwork on it. Either way not my problem or my truck. So I dont really care if its authentic.

It's definitely cool! The details are just odd. It really appears to be the original truck that SVT threw together in '94/95. Maybe somebody else threw the blower on afterwards? But I don't understand the point/effort when it's not really driveable and that would take away from the originality of the SVT creation.

Either way - thanks for sharing. Absolutely a cool truck whatever the story turns out to be.

Ford hung on to for awhile after, my BIL drove it when he went thru the asset program around 2000.

They may have tested stuff for ford racing on it too. :dntknw:

That explorer frontend looks pretty damn cool on that ranger I must say

I have more to upload but it wont right now

Way too much wheel gap, and that front end... 🤢🤢

Bloomington Ford.
Special features? “CD player”
