More Bronco hear say.

Ok day one down.

The seats are staggered kind of like a old Land Rover, Oliver really likes being able to see out the front. His head is about as high as his mom's is in the front seat. Flipside is it is a little tougher to get him up in there.

No real dome light in the back. There is something trying to happen behind the rear seat but there isn't much for candlepowers.

Still muddling thru the electonic stuff. I did try the trail turn assist thing in the field. Wasn't thinking and tried it in 2wd and I got a warning message. Shifted it to 4high and the thing shut off while I was waiting (auto start stop BS)

Ground was maybe a bit too loose I dunno. Tried going uphill (not steep) and it spun out. It did do it going downhill. It did not actually drag a tire which was neat.

Drove it a town a way for supper, started at 16mpg, now it is up to 18.3 in eco mode.

I was worried about the 4.46 gear on the highway, it idles along at like 1800rpm, which isn't much higher than my F-150 with 3.73's and 32's (but with a 4R70W 4 speed)

Went to turn back onto our road and I let it breath a little. That little bugger came unglued, around 6psi of boost it was about like the space/time continuum was starting to open up. In the dark with the family onboard I lifted. And that was in eco mode. Also weird how the 10spd keeps it in constant thrust, there was no bang, bang bang as you go thru the gears like the automatics I have been around

On the flipside we did test drive another 2.3 Sasquatch orphan on Christmas Eve. Kinda kept it to myself because it was rather underwhelming on the road. And yes these powertrains do need to learn and yes it might have come out of it and yes previous test drivers may have gotten it into a weird algarythim... but it just felt like a truck with a lift kit, just out of its element on the road. It is a very low bar but I am pretty sure my F-150 could have easily taken it in a drag race. It was rather sobering at the time knowing it was the same powertrain as ours. Same with the soft top, when we met vehicles on the road it sounded like a window was cracked.

So glad we skipped the Sasquatch altogether. The height, the added expense of upkeep, the handling everything. Personally very happy we went the route we did.

Welcome to the 2.3/10spd family! The future is neat.

The 10 speeds adapt rapidly.

They are shitty with heavy loads though... In tow haul with the cruise on, it won't let it drop 2 mph without shifting....in the big hills on 70 between Washington pa and Cambridge oh it can get violent...10k or less...no issues.. so now I bump mine down to 8 in the 250 pulling over 10k and go to eco mode.

you have the 10r60 Light duty version iirc ..

These units are having some issues. So I hope yours is good. They are not tow rigs so that won't be a top thing...

The 2.3 is at the limit with your package with the seat time I have had. The squatch definitely too much.

My wife immediately shitcanned the idea of a bronco after getting in it. We have four grand children....and no way on the seating.

The lighting and stowage and cupholders...and HVAC....just full mom no.

Grand wagoneer...or Tahoe when the power boost goes.

Time will tell. With one or two children....

Bronco for me.

I sure as hell don't expect more then 14 or 15 average mpg out of them though. So that's looking good so far.

Yeah, we are thinking two kids, car seats come with two cupholders. I think it would be easy to make something if we still have it by the time they outgrow car seats.

We really like it so far.

The sasquatch thing was just weird, having a 10spd with 4.70's the difference is way bigger than I think it should be.

I've seen a couple different ones running around town the last couple weeks. A 2 door red Badlands Squatch I've seen several times.

I'm looking forward to getting the Bronco II out and maybe striking up some conversation. Maybe even lining them up for a few comparison photos.

I’m pretty sure the Bronco has the 10R80 like the Ranger does.

You sure woulda thunk it... but nope.

Hmmm... wonder if the Braptor use the 10R60?

There was a definite jump in horse power... and tire size.

Hard to say, they run the 10R60 behind the 3.0 in the Explorer too. Tire size is different but Explorer has like twice the tow capacity.

Saw my first two door the other day, must of had 35"s on it...

Fell in love 🥰

With those big tires it looked like it would do a wheelie lol. Short but tall.

They are making the rock flaps now.....they cover the side in mud and rocks pretty bad.

Ford still doesn't offer a thing that fits with rock rails.

I am going to go digging the barn to try to find my old generic flaps to get by with so we can drive faster than 15mph on our road.

i saw these in a review vdo, after watching SarahnTuned videos. Not sure of the price, but they put them on a Bronco with the Squatch Flares and got pretty good blockage.
