Hi folks, having a heckuva time trying to figure out if the crawler or D slot tyep wheels are going to be a correct fit for my 94 Ranger XLT. I am going to go up to a 15 with a larger tire and I’m wondering about offsets, clearance etc. Also, it would be great if I could find some of this stuff used, as a set of tires and wheels are gonna run me about $1000 and I’m trying to save some $$$. Thanks!

if you find some jeep guys selling them, wheels from an xj Cherokee, tj or yj wrangler, a comanche, and any zj grand Cherokee are the same 5x2.4 bolt pattern and fit. i have seen many jeeps with ranger wheels and rangers with jeep wheels on them

so search for jeep wheels and you can probably find them cheaper.

and if you end up having to buy new, i got them from jegs or one of those guys for a low price per wheel for my wrangler in black d steelies

I won't deny that some jeep wheels fit the Ranger... but I have never seen the bolt pattern you state. Ranger wheels are 5x4.5 (5x114.3)

Yeesh.

I was going to say, no way some steelies and 29s will come close to 1000$

Then I checked ebay... and apparently new steel wheels are almost (or a touch over) 100$ a piece these days..

Holy crap. I remember when a 15x8 d-window was 50$ -__-

I remember when steel white spokes (wagon wheels) in 15 x 7 were $30 a rim.
Heres stock 15x7 2001 jeep wrangler rims on my ‘94 Tire size on these wheels is 215/75/15.

Those Jeep wheels really good... IMHO

They do look better with bigger tires, I have 235/75/15’s on those rims now. Its a bit much for my engine/gearing setup if trailering though.

God dang. I mistyped. They are 5x4.5 also.

I am going to assume you have a 2x4 with 14" wheels, then yes, Jeep wheels MIGHT fit. Though many Jeep wheels do not have a big enough hub hole or the correct backpacking to fit a 4x4.

If you have a 2x4, you probably do not have enough clearance for a LT235/75r15 without rubbing, especially if your springs are weak.

1994 and before Explorer wheels with 235 tires will fit your Ranger.

Basically you want a 15x8 with 4" backspacing (50/50 for a 4x4) and off set will probably be 12mm or so.

Black steel wheels are running about $90 each right now and you can get retread 235 tires for under $95, though my favorite place treadwright appears to have dropped almost all 15" tires except for 33s AT.
