Speaking of that.... North Carolina is currently building an underpass for wildlife to cross under I-40 west of Asheville, almost at the TN border. How can even a politician be so dumb as to think the wildlife is going to use that instead of racing across 4 lanes of traffic a mile away from there? I can't fathom the thought process that brought this to fruition.

Those actually work... and after a few years, they work great. Animals are pretty smart and know how to stay safe.

If it works, that's great. I'm still skeptical. The interstate follows a river through the gorge for miles. I just can't imagine a lot of animals thinking " I'll walk a couple miles out of my way to get to that river I see right over there."

This thing is very close to a good 4x4 trail. Hurricane Creek. And it's at the same exit where we get off to go to Buzzard Roost. There is already an underpass there.

I have THIS in my City, where Hwy 27 went right through the middle of a "lake". The Lake has a huge sinkhole that drains the lake about every 10-12 years.
