Hi-

I am looking for an updated 4.0 swap guide. I have scoured the tech articles and we can't figure out the missing splices or problems. Currently endeavoring on a '93 Explorer XLT 4.0 swap in to my automatic '86 BII. We are hitting a wiring wall. Does anyone have a color coded wiring guide or can help me with a step by step. We have power to ignition, it cranks at the Key, but there isnt any spark. Hoping to get it done before it gets cold and snowy.

Thanks

Are you using the Bronco II dash harness? Explorer engine harness I assume? Do you have power to the coil pack?

2.9 > 4.0

The 4.0 is a 2.9...just a biggerer, betterer, and badderer one :thefinger:

We got power to the Coil Pack....no spark though. You are correct- B2 Dash Harness and Explorer engine Harness.. so running two brains.

They both ran before the swap. The engine is bolted and Explorer tranny is hooked up too...just wiring now.
Sorry, I was insulting PJ412.

What did you do to make it stand alone?

Why two computers? Especially if using the Explorer transmission too.

It sounds like the only thing still B2 is the dash and harness correct?

Did you leave the lighting wiring that runs underhood?

Is the Explorer underhood fuse box still there?

Where have wires been cut/spliced already? Pictures would be best if possible.
