soft ride coils and some leaf springs?

I hear superlift coils are really stiff. The ones i got in my used lift kit are about an inch different in length....this worrys me. What coils should I get If I have a 5.5" superlift bracket?
I was thinking skyjacker softride 6" or 8". I hear they sag a little. Which would work the best for my set up? I wanna run 33s

also I got some leaf springs that were made from ranger/exploder packs, but am being told they would be way too stiff. What can I do to match the rear for that kind of lift? I thought maybe the leafsprings that come with the skyjacker 6" kit??

With 5.5" brackets, you'll want the 6" SJ coils, plus the F-150 spacers (for the weight of your Supercab). The 8" SJ coils may be just a tad too long for 5.5" brackets (they're close at times even with 6" brackets).

You'll probably want to do something with your steering too, a 'standard' drop pitman arm isn't long enough for that much lift (get the SJ #FA600 drop arm, or do a linkage swap).

For the rear, the Skyjacker FR34 leafs work well, and should sit right about level (you could also get the FR36 leafs, and dump the block for about the same height. They may ride a bit harsher though).

Thanks 4x4 junkie, you've always had good input for my questions, Part numbers and everything too. I have heard that stacking washers are better than using spacers, any truth to that and why?

Washers would allow you to fine-tune the height in smaller increments. Some say the spacer is better because it's one solid piece though (of course you can always weld the washers together after you find the right amount).

Hey 4x4 Junkie.......or anyone else who could tell me
Ok so Im looking on auto anything and they say that the
FR34 springs give 4" lift, and that the
FR36 springs give 6" lift

is that why you told me to either run the block with the 34's or not with the 36's?(to get an even ride and lift of 6") What is the main difference between these leafsprings.

Oh and the FA600 is for 6-8 inch lifts. But should do the trick for what Im running?
I trust a trs member over the mailorders descriptions but just want to be sure before I order. Thanks.

I just want the truck to flex and sit level.

the , 34's will give you 4inches of lift WITH the blocks,take the blocks out you lose the hieght of the block.and your back to 2 inches of lift over all

with a 4inch lift in the front, it would make the truck aprx level, maybe the ass end aprx .5-1 inch lower with the blocks out.


the 36's, will give you 6inches of lift with the block, take the blocks out you lose that amounts of lift, so you end up with about 4inches of lift.
if you take the blocks out, and have a 5.5-6 inch lift in the front,once again you will be about level, .5-1 inch lower in the ass., after a litlte wheeling they will pretty much level them selfs out in general.....

ranger sit nose down a little from the factory, 1.5-2inches.in 4wds, aprx the height of the rear blocks worth....

hopefully that clears it up for you..and dosent confuse you more..

fa600 arm would be the choice arm to go with a 6inch drop bracket kit like you have.
unless you can afford somethign like the super runner kit.

yea I dont want the nose down look if I can help it, just a level ride. and I will be running 33s.

So you are saying go with the FR36 and a block to be even with my set up.....F150 spacers and 6" skyjacker soft coils and a5.5" superlift bracket? after the springs settle

if you want NO nose down take the block out of the 36's, it will sit abotu 1/2-1inch uner the front with a FULL 6 inch lift in the front that way
