Ok, so I bypassed the ox fitting thing today on my 03 b3000 and did a flush. I ran the system up to temp per the gauge. The heater was hot inside the heater core hoses were both hot, but the top radiator hose was not hot or pressurized and the radiator cap also was not at all. So.... yes dumb, I undid the radiator cap after the engine running for 15-20min. It did have pressure, but the coolant was cold..... wth is going on??? Is the thermostat not opening or is it something else

Sounds like either a defective thermostat, or most likely a plugged radiator. Could be a water pump issue as well though.

Got it, did an old wrangler trick... elevated the front-end and a crap ton of air came out of the radiator. All is good.

Tomorrow I'll finish the flush, drain and fill with antifreeze.

Yep, good.
Getting that front end elevated seems to be the trick to burping air out of these engines.

Another good trick with cologne blocks ive found is, i always refill coolant through the hose on the top of the block to the thermostat housing. Not sure about a 3.0 though, ive only ever looked at those a few times.
