Does anyone have any ideas or examples of consoles for 1st gen Rangers? Specifically the bench seat models with a manual transmission...? I'd love to see some creative ideas on what people have come up with.

I really need at least one decent sized cup holder to carry my sweet tea that's permanently attached to me at all times.

GB :)

Wow. Napa links are really long lol.

I've never had a bench seat in a Ranger bird... no help from me.

I had the cup holder that goes on each side of the shifter in my 98. Maybe worth looking into. I also cut down a advanced auto cheap one with the cd holder to stick in-between the shift and the center console before I went t5z worked fine with the R1 and R2 trans....

Now I use a roll of duct tape.... I can't decide either what I want to do for a console or arm rest.....

Bends by hand with a shop vice, the tab on the back gets welded in place to basically form a box. 3/16" material is plenty rigid. The cupholder inserts are like $1.50 from the boat dept at walmart. It actually stays in place pretty well just stuffed between the seat and carpet.

I have being toying with getting another one cut out with a more rounded rh corner and provisions for a sunglass case and something to hold a thing of hand sanitizer.

If you have somebody that can burn it I can send you the .dwg.

I really like 85_Ranger4x4's setup but my cup holder positioning would have to be different due to shifter placement. Thanks for the offer on the .dwg file though. I guess I should use an online CAD program to design my own. I wish I was still in the local community college. I'd design and 3d print my own one-off design. Though, there are cheap online 3D printing services these days... Hmm...

I did find a nos unit that I was thinking about using, but I don't really like the wood grain, plus I'd like to integrate some additional storage for pens, and odds-n-ends... The cup holder spacing looks like it might work for me though. I think it was made for the floor shift automatic Ranger/BII though.

That is unique, is there a part number on it?

I would have preferred something like that but I just have way too much goin' on up there.

Later trucks have something similar but plastic but is way too bubbly for a first gen interior IMO.

Nanocad is my go to cad program now, free.99 and very AutoCADlike if you have any experience with that.

I just built my own. When I put the T5 in the truck it was in a completely different locations so I used the old mounting holes from the old four-speed to install the floor console. The seat console I just built out of the extra scraps. I have it set up to be belted in with the seatbelt but I never really use the seatbelt.

I still have ZERO. lol

That "wood" console I posted is for a 2nd gen manual trans floor shifter. The cutout dimensions match the 2nd gen shifter boot bezel.

I don't mean to brag but I have four cup holders now...

It looks like you really need to clean that steering wheel. I'd try a tiny bit of brake cleaner sprayed on a rag. It worked for my 87 steering wheel. Totally removed the stickiness from it leeching out the adhesives or whatever.

Armor-All works pretty good too. I usually do it before the car show which of course didn't happen last year. Unless I do it like once a month it never "stays" clean.

Not sure what the crap is, I swear it keeps making more even when I am not driving the truck.

Right now... shes my daily driver as the pinion bearings went out of the rear axle in my F-150. And of course it is freaking 100 degrees out now.

Looks like you have a 2 fister in training. lol

Mainly he stores shoes in them. Why? I don't know, it just seems like the the thing to do I guess. :dntknw:
