Right to repair

Can forscan turn off the seatbelt chime and tpms system?
Ive no problem with the dealership service dept, the sales dept is another matter though, I would call my local ford store a stealership for that reason, but the parts/service dept Ive not had a issue with, when the escape had a a/c issue I fully expected the bill to be in the hundreds, I even said when I dropped it off that my credit limit was XXX, keep it under if you can. The bill was barely over $100. And Ive had no a/c issues since.

Maybe and no. :icon_thumby:

If the chime is part of the as built data in the software you can alter that, things like that are largely dependent on model/year. TPMS is a mandatory system so I don't know of any way to "turn it off" forscan may have a feature to change the warning psi but I do not think so.

Turning off the seat belt chime is listed in the owners manual. The TPMS was forced on the car companies by the government to protect people who are too dumb or too lazy to check their tire pressure, raising the price of vehicles and repair costs for everyone.

Yes, I realize why tpms exists, why the government cant have the balls to say “its the owners responsibility, cant check your tires then you shouldnt be driving”. these d@mn camera systems with automatic braking are probably a “mandatory “ item as well, the one comercial kills me, family in the car, dad turns around to look at daughter, then in front of him a box truck backs out of a driveway (or something like that) Watch the road! I know its television but ever noticed how much the driver isn’t watching, that and when they are filming they never put the gear lever in park, you can see the end of the lever a lot- its in park! Back when the warning buzzer was a seperate module it was a simple thing to just find & unplug, now its somehow integrated into a computer and the sound seems to be coming from the speakers of the audio system. Automatic door locks bug me too, some cars the only way to disable them is to pull the power lock relay.

I bought new sensors once for my old Sport Trac, couple years later the batteries were dying in them too so I put a piece of black tape over the light. (y)
